Last updated: June 26, 2026

Who we are

Formwire is a hosted form backend operated by Treve Technologies LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the Formwire website, dashboard, APIs, hosted submission endpoints, React package, CLI, email delivery, webhook delivery, and SMS delivery features.

Information we collect

  • Account information, such as your email address, login details, account settings, form names, destination settings, API keys, sender domains, and billing plan.
  • Form submission content that you choose to collect through your forms, including field names, submitted values, timestamps, form IDs, delivery status, spam status, and related metadata.
  • Technical information, such as IP address, user agent, request headers, referrer, device and browser details, log events, API usage, error reports, and security signals used to operate the service and prevent abuse.
  • Delivery information needed to send submissions to email, webhooks, auto-replies, and SMS, including recipient addresses, phone numbers, webhook URLs, delivery payloads, provider responses, and retry status.
  • Payment and subscription information processed by our payment provider. We do not intentionally store full card numbers on Formwire systems.

How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, secure, and improve Formwire.
  • Receive, store, display, route, and deliver form submissions according to your configuration.
  • Authenticate users, manage accounts, issue API keys, enforce plan limits, process billing, and provide support.
  • Detect spam, fraud, abuse, service misuse, security incidents, and operational problems.
  • Send service emails such as login links, verification messages, billing notices, delivery notifications, auto-replies, account deletion confirmations, and important product or policy updates.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

Customer form data

You control the forms you create and the information you ask visitors to submit. For submission content collected through your forms, Formwire processes that data on your behalf to provide the service. You are responsible for giving your form visitors any notices, consent choices, or disclosures required for the information you collect.

Do not use Formwire to collect highly sensitive regulated information such as protected health information, full payment card numbers, government IDs, or similar data unless we have expressly agreed in writing that the service is appropriate for that use.

Sharing and subprocessors

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to operate Formwire, follow your instructions, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

  • Hosting, database, storage, logging, security, and infrastructure providers.
  • Email providers used to send account emails, submission notifications, and auto-replies.
  • SMS providers used when you enable SMS delivery.
  • Webhook destinations and other integrations you configure.
  • Spam prevention and security providers, including Cloudflare Turnstile when enabled.
  • Payment processors for subscriptions and billing.

Cookies and local storage

Formwire may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences such as theme, protect against abuse, measure service usage, and operate the website and dashboard. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but blocking some storage may prevent parts of the service from working.

Retention and deletion

We retain account information and form configuration for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Submission retention depends on your plan, settings, deletion actions, and operational requirements. For example, the Free plan is designed for limited submission history, while paid plans may retain submission history for longer.

When you delete submissions, forms, or your account, we remove or de-identify associated data from active systems within a reasonable period, subject to backups, logs, billing records, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal requirements, and legitimate business needs.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect Formwire and the data we process. No online service is perfectly secure, so you are responsible for protecting your account credentials, API keys, webhook secrets, and destination credentials.

Your choices and rights

You may access, update, export, or delete many types of data through the dashboard or API. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent. To make a privacy request, contact us at support@formwire.dev.

Children

Formwire is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information to Formwire, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

International use

Formwire may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws different from the laws where you live.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Formwire changes. If a change is material, we will provide notice through the website, dashboard, email, or another reasonable method. The updated policy applies when posted unless a later effective date is stated.
